When Zack was planning his proposal, he wanted a place that was both romantic and cozy. After I sent him a few suggestions, he chose the charming neighborhood of Christianshavn in Copenhagen. It’s a delightful area with beautiful canals and quaint streets, and there’s one special spot that stays peaceful even during the day or evening.
The proposal was set for 6 p.m. at this lovely location. As often happens with surprise proposals, Zack and Maddy were a bit late—about 10 to 15 minutes, which is totally normal. Waiting a little for the perfect moment is always worth it.
Zack sent me a quick photo on WhatsApp to show me how he and Maddy would look when they arrived. When they got there, I spotted them from a distance and pretended to be a tourist taking photos of the area. As they walked towards the spot, I began capturing their special moments. ✨
One funny moment was when Zack, overwhelmed with excitement, started shaking and accidentally moved to a spot under a tree where the background wasn’t as nice. But that’s okay! The most important thing is to enjoy the moment. My tip for anyone planning a proposal: take a deep breath, have a little chat, and relax. The joy you see in the photos we took right after will be just as real as when Zack proposed.
Both Zack and Maddy were very emotional, and Maddy had lots of questions like, "Do my parents know? Have my friends seen the ring?" It was so sweet to hear that Zack had kept the ring a secret from everyone. He wanted Maddy to be the first to see it. How wonderful is that? 💍
We continued the photo session around Christianshavn and then finished up at Nyhavn, with its colorful buildings and lively atmosphere. Zack had booked a reservation at Høst, a lovely Nordic restaurant I recommended. It was the perfect place to celebrate their engagement with delicious food and a warm ambiance.
